Writing for a circulation that exceeds one million, my time with the Daily Herald has guided me through a miscellany of reporting opportunities. As an intern, I covered captivating stories across a wide variety of sports, from an inspiring story of perseverance after a serious cancer diagnosis to the press release of the 2025 rendition of the NCAA’s “Frozen Four” held at historic Wrigley Field.
Following the completion of my internship, I accepted an offer to return as a paid correspondent. In my initial role, I remotely provided breaking news coverage via contact with local authorities. Upon graduation, I took my pad and pen to the gridiron, the links and the hardwood, detailing game recaps, previews, post-round breakdowns and more while covering IHSA boys football, girls flag football, golf and basketball.

The Portal Report/Hoops HQ
The Portal Report is a web-based portal that focuses on transfer portal recruiting for both its scouting service and a media brand that has over 40,000 followers across all platforms. During my time at TPR, I worked with a dynamic team filled with experts in the field. Additionally, I published over 80 articles and have conducted on-camera interviews with Division 1 men’s basketball coaches.
A startup launched by acclaimed CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated writer Seth Davis, Hoops HQ provides readers with an in-depth look into the college hoops landscape. Through a partnership between TPR and Hoops HQ, I have specialized in NCAA transfer portal recruiting coverage and player movement analytics.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner
A tight-knit community defines the Interior of the Last Frontier.
In a dedicated and diverse sports town like Fairbanks, sports reporting opportunities varying from the iconic Iditarod to the extravagant Equinox Marathon, pictured, await.
Blessed by six sensational months and counting in the Golden Heart City, I’ve established a meaningful bond with the community.
June brought the heat. Commencing behind a microphone at the softball diamond, my on-air tenure dawned with a bang. Culminating with a pair of events unique to the 49th state’s Interior, the one-of-a-kind Midnight Sun Baseball Game presented the lifetime baseball fan in me a surreal opportunity. Next, the Yukon 800 featured a precarious aquatic race dubbed the longest, roughest and toughest speedboat race in the world.
Wonders of the World Eskimo Indian-Olympics, comprising gnarly ear-pull bouts, astonishing feats of agility, and so much more shined a light upon a community devoted to sportsmanship and camaraderie.
United States Olympians, National Hockey League draft selections, Stanley Cup Champions and an abundance of awe-inspiring athletes grace the coverage scene.
Blue and gold courses through the veins of Nanook Nation, a staunch support battalion of the local University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Last, but certainly not least, hockey heaven resides at Big Dipper Ice Arena, where the North American Hockey League’s Fairbanks Ice Dogs boast an unparalleled home-rink advantage, and a superb squad.
As a breathtaking winter season, (figuratively and literally, perhaps!) rapidly approaches, I look forward to continuing to give my all to the people of Fairbanks!

About
Storytelling became a passion of mine at a young age. In fourth grade, I attempted my first book. Although my dreams of publishing fluttered to the floor in a heap of paper and blue colored pencil, my passion for telling stories had only just begun.
Since then, I’ve worked hard to hone my craft. Recently, opportunities with The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, The Daily Herald Media Group and The Portal Report presented the chance to align my passion for writing with my love for sports.
Propelled by a phenomenal foundation in the heart of interior Alaska, I strive for perpetual progression!
